Synopsis..

She’s everything he dreamed of.  Isn’t she?

Ben can’t believe his luck when Bella walks into his life, just when he needs her most. Sexy, impulsive and intelligent, Bella is everything he ever wanted. And Bella wants him. All to herself.

In fact, Bella decides that everything is better when it is just the two of them, making it harder for Ben’s friends and family to stay in touch. And then a sudden tragedy triggers a chain of events which throws Ben headlong into a nightmare.

Secrets, lies, vengeance and betrayal are at the heart of this utterly twisted story about a family that is destroyed when SHE becomes part of it…

My Review...

Thank you so much HQ for this beautiful proof copy, I absolutely loved the clever twist of turning the book the other way, such a delete to have a little quirk when reading.

What a fantastic read this was, a dark and gripping psychological thriller about secrets, lies, relationships and revenge.

I really warmed to Bens character, such a lovely man. Kind, gentle and very caring.

Bella on the other hand is a twisted, sick in the head, controlling phsyco.

Mainly about Ben and Bella this story is Split over four parts, but the book half way through makes you turn it upside down and start again from the other side…

The first half of the book is predominantly from Bens perspective with a few chapters also from his parents and friends points of view.

Having split up with his long term girlfriend of 12 years Ben is struggling to find himself again, then one evening on a night out with his best friend Marcus, Ben meets Bella. She is extremely beautiful, slim and is perfect in every way.

They spend the evening chatting and end up back at bens flat, where she ends up moving in and they end up in a relationship together. Ben can't believe his luck and falls hard for Bella.

Very quickly Bella becomes pregnant and they get married.

Bens parents and friends are unsure of Bella but ben seems happy so they go along with it, but Bella becomes more controlling and always causes issues when ben wants to see family and friends, making him grow ore distant from everyone. when Elodie, their baby girl is born, Bellas mood swings become worse, one minute she I loving then next she is screaming and complaining, Ben lets most things go as its just not worth the hassle from Bella and ends up cut off from everyone,

Flipping the book over and starting the second half is a huge eye opener, this part is mainly all from Bellas perspective, and wow she is not who you think she is.

Bella and Bens marriage is in one hand pleasant yet in the other utterly devastating.

Utterly disturbing and gripping, this is a must read! It is even harder for a man to reach out and ask for help because who would believe a six foot man could be physically abused by a smaller petite woman. Bens love for his child keeps him with Bella and he hopes that one day things will change, one day she will realise she needs him.

This book is a perfect example that you never know what goes on behind closed doors, or of the true nature of a persons personality, yet you get to see exactly what they want to show you.
