First Lines Friday - 28th August

Hey Bookworms

First Lines Fridays is my weekly feature for all you bookworms out there in need a little inspiration.

I have been posting these over on Instagram for a while but decided to further my reach.

Each Friday I will attempt to hook you in by posting the first handful of lines of a book that I recommend for you all to read, this way I can allow the story to grab you with the magic of its opening lines rather then an eye grabbing cover or a catchy blurb adorning the back.

Then I will reveal the book and include purchase links at the end.

The first lines of this week's chosen book are. . .

Ravishment: The first diary of Lady Jane Tremayne by James Walker

I am due to read this book this week so will add in my review link later on this week but until then take a peek at the synopsis to keep you sated.

I adore historical fiction and this one sounds just like my kind of read.

The synopsis is below 👇🏻

--------------

Ravishment

A 17th-century whodunnit - It’s 1653 and Lady Jane Tremayne has inherited the estate of her late husband.

When a young woman is raped, as Lady of the Manor, Jane decides to investigate, assisted by her closest friend, Lady Olivia Courtney.

Then the stakes are raised when the rapist strikes again.

More than just a whodunnit, this is an absorbing tale of a brave woman living in dangerous and unique times.

What do you think?

Does this sound like a book you would love to read?
