My Review

Thank you Zaffre for this gorgeous proof copy to read and review. This was my first T.M Logan book.

This story is told over two different narratives, the father and the fiancé.

Abbie is the only child to Ed and Claire, she has been dating Ryan for a few months and over lunch at her parents house one afternoon she has broken the news that they plan to marry as they are utterly in love. Ryan seems to be the perfect man. Tall, handsome, career driven and a pure gentleman, Claire and her elderly mother love him instantly but Ed isn't quite sure, there is just something about the look in his eyes that makes him question the man he appears to be.

The next bombshell that same afternoon is that Abby will be moving in with Ryan and that they will be getting married that same year as Abby really wants her elderly sick nan at her wedding, Claire and Ed are not particularly happy as this is the first official time that they have actually met Ryan but Abby is an adult and their isn't much they can say about it so agree to start helping her with plans.

Ed goes in to protective dad mode, his instincts tell him not to trust the man that wants to marry his only little girl so he starts following him, checking him out online and seeing if all that he says he is matches up. This is where it all goes a little wrong for Ed, he jeopardises his job, his marriage and his relationship with his daughter, even gets himself into debt with a private investigator all because he cannot shake the gut feeling that Ryan is a bad egg, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The second part is all from Ryans perspective, you get to see what kind of person he actually is rather than the assumptions of what he may be from the father in law to be.

I do not write spoiler reviews so will leave it there, I do not want to give too much away and ruin your own assumptions and suspicions.

Why I Love It

I did really enjoy this read, for the most part it was fast paced and I was always wondering if Ryan was a bad guy or if Ed was just a to over protective father.

The ending shocked me completely, I loved how it all came together and felt myself giving a quiet "oooooh" at the final words that played out in front of me.

If you like a gripping read, full of suspense then this is most definitely for you.

Rating

★★★★☆
