Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all.

I said in my review for the first book in this series (A Court Of Thorns And Roses) that I initially held off looking at this series as ashamedly I was put off by the covers, but since I got over myself and actually read it I can say that this is now one of my most favourite series. Ever.

A Court of Mist and Fury is even better than the first book, which I didn't think was possible!

I don't really know how to write this review in order to adequately express how fantastic this book truly is. How beautiful, exciting and achingly woeful all at the same time.

I am going to struggle wording how this book really made me feel and at the same time nervous that I will not do it justice.

Feyre and Tamlin are back at the summer court and everyone is now safe again thanks to her huge sacrifice to which she became a Fae.

At first all seems like it is going to go back to normal with Tam and Feyre but both are still struggling to deal with what has just happened and what they both went through.

Tamlin has an overpowering guilt for not helping Feyre under the mountain and tries to make up for it by keeping her at home, not giving her any freedom to roam until they have hunted down all the creatures that escaped and were on Amarantha's side.

Feyre is haunted every minute of the day, she can not allow herself any forgiveness for killing the two young Faeries and struggles with anything that reminds her of her horrific time as a prisoner. Colours, small rooms all cause her panic but she doesn't know how to handle it and Tamlin makes things worse by suffocating her more.

"I needed not to be dead when I agreed. You needed not to be alone.”

Rhysand comes along and calls in his bargain to which she has to go, she despises Rhysand and cannot fathom why he would want her there in his court for any other reason then to wind up her lover, it isn't long before she starts to realise this isn't necessarily the case.

The more time Feyre spends at The Night Court the more she realises there is so much more going on then she ever realised and that Tamlin had been hiding from her.

I cant say any more than that as I do not want to give anything away.

Why I Loved It

I adored the characters in this book, I was already obsessing over them from the last one, but this story just ramped it up to the next level. My favourite character is by far Rhysand. Clever, witty, compassionate and extremely sexy he is the bad boy every girl would eventually end up craving.

Sarah j Maas was so clever when writing this book that everything you thought you thought from the one before all gets completely thrown out of the window.

I did a complete 360 with my feelings and opinions on some of the characters that by the end of this book I could not have ever imagined the outcome to be what I originally thought it was going to be.

These books are jam packed with sexual tension and witty cheeky banter loaded with sexual innuendo that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. For me I was walking home from work and reading at the same time, when I was nearing the end I reached a part that I was ecstatic about and had the biggest grin on my face! I must have looked a little weird.

My most favourite part of this book was finding out why Rhysand at the end of book one takes a sharp intake of breath and makes a swift exit. Loved reading that part.

I have read a few comments regarding the previous book being derogatory to women. I personally did not have that view at all and this second piece to the story is packed with female empowerment. It's passionate, daring and totally keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I will be recommending this series to everyone who will listen and I cannot wait to see where the third book will take Feyre.
