Synopsis

A heart is a dangerous thing to steal.

From New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan, Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses in this sexy, action-packed fantasy about a girl who is caught between two treacherous faerie courts and their dangerously seductive princes.

Brie would do anything before making a deal with the Fae; death is better than their vicious schemes. But when her sister is taken by the sadistic king of the Unseelie court, there is nothing Brie wouldn't do to get her back-including making a deal with the king himself to steal three magical relics from the rival Seelie court.

Gaining unfettered access to the Seelie court is easier said than done. Brie's only choice is to pose as a potential bride for the Seelie Prince, Ronan-a prince who's not quite as wicked as she once thought. Unwilling to let her heart distract her, she accepts help from a band of Unseelie misfits with their own secret agenda. But as Brie spends time with their mysterious leader, Finn, she finds herself struggling to resist his seductive charm.

Caught between two dangerous courts, Brie must decide who to trust with her loyalty . . . and with her heart.

My Review

I absolutely loved this book. I’m fast becoming a huge fan of fantasy stories and this one gave me everything I wanted!

The first in a new series, the story follows Brie, in the beginning she is left with her little sister to live with her uncle after her father dies and her mother seemingly gives them both up to run away with a fae male.

The pair are treated like servants under the rule of their aunt and cousins, Forced to make a payment every month to free them of the contract they signed into when they were only young, that is until her sister is sold to the Faerie king in another realm.

Sold by her aunt to the Fae Shadow King, Brie decides she has to go after her and get her sister back but once she is there nothing is at it seems, Fae are not all the monsters she has been led to believe.

The shadow king promises to release her sister if she retrieves three objects from the Sun Queen that belong to his realm.

This book for me was extremely gripping! I loved how just when I thought I had worked out who the bad guy was, I was thrown another curve ball. The characters are all extremely relatable and I found myself working out early on who I did and didn’t like and what make you was rooting for 😉

If you loved Sarah J Maas A Court Of Thorns And Roses then you will love this.

Why I Loved It

Sexy, surprising, and jam packed full of secrets. The main character has two very different love interests, lots of heated moments, and a whole world of secrets about herself snd her past that are itching to be known.

The author has written the relationships between Brie and her two male love interests so well that you can almost feel the fizzing between them as you read, especially the shower scene with Finn😉

I truly can not wait to see where the story goes next, it ended on a brilliant cliff hanger.

Thank you so much @readeatretreat @hodderstoughton for this spectacular fantasy read ✨

Out now ✨
